"Death Row Lullaby" was the first song I wrote for 'Cheers To Regret'. I wrote the riff years ago and was never able to apply it to anything. I sat in the bathroom one day and wrote the lyrics to Death Row Lullaby not knowing what I was going to write about until it hit me. Lyrically, it sounds political, like a song about Death Row and how many of the prisoners might innocent. It's not. It's really about the many couples that are together and even married couple that are prisoners to each other, who are stuck with each other until the day they die, suffering from not being happy with each other. I know many parents and couples that do not get along but are only together for their kids. It's a sad thing to see. The worst part is many of these couples hide their feelings and can never reach out to someone for advice.

As the rest go through Hell and they never come back again
Cause all of their hope is lost and the jail cells rust
It's cold as ice on the concrete floor

The prisoners sing while they're on death row
The children dance but what they don't know is when the music stops

And those who fight to stay alive
